Gaia Shopping

GaiaShopping resulted from an expansion of more than 25,000 m2 of leasable area, which opened to the public in October 1995, increasing to C. C. Vila Nova de Gaia, a second phase of the project, totaling 59,684 m2.

Located 300 meters from the A1 motorway, at the exit of Coimbrões and 3 kilometers from the Arrábida Bridge – the main access road to Porto – GaiaShopping enjoys a strategic location with easy access. The Freixo road bridge and its connection to the internal circulars of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia further improved the existing accesses.

Carefully planned and designed and with an existing flow of 10 million and 200 thousand consumers per year, GaiaShopping counts on the presence of 161 stores spread over two floors, 12 Large Stores, a common catering plaza with approximately 700 seats, one free car park with capacity for 2,904 vehicles, a children’s space Bichinhos Carpinteiros and a multiplex cinema with nine rooms and capacity for approximately 1,814 people. GaiaShopping offers a wide variety of options in terms of shopping and leis ure, reaching an area of influence with more than 950,000 consumers.

The existence of a Continent Hypermarket and an adjacent commercial gallery has made us develop a global concept that goes through its own vibrant and colorful personality with large squares and skylights, distinguishable from the local competition. Its theme is associated with the River Douro and its different boats “Rabelos”, the vessels that still carry Port wine along the river. With modulations in shape, color and size, this motif was used, including in its logo, under a wide variety of pretexts.
